Dr. Eric Zhao is a gastroenterologist committed to providing thoughtful, patient-centered care for a wide range of digestive and liver conditions. He earned his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, completed his internal medicine residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson, and went on to complete his gastroenterology fellowship at Cook County Health and Hospitals System in Chicago, where he served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Zhao enjoys caring for patients of all backgrounds, and he believes that great care starts with listening. He wishes patients to feel seen, heard, and comfortable discussing their concerns, and works with them to develop personalized treatment plans. His clinical interests include preventive care and colon cancer screening, acid reflux, constipation, diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, and chronic liver disease.
Dr. Zhao speaks English and Mandarin. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and exploring new places and cuisines, watching and playing sports, and spending time with his corgi.
